If there were a T-shirt that let you change the slogan daily

September 24th, 2008

Imagine if you would, all those T-shirts with witty quips and timely statements. Now, what if you could just change what the T-shirt said whenever you want? Make a statement about your mood today, or your interpretation of the latest political blunder. Whatever.

Option 1 – The high-tech way

Use washable and flexible LCD/LED/eInk to reprogram your T-shirt.

Option 2 – Going old-school

Cover the front or back of the T-shirt with the soft side of velcro, and then get a bunch of letters cut out in the rough side of velcro. Just mix and match the letters.

If there were a place to write about great ideas

July 9th, 2008

Welcome to Wouldn’t it be cool! This is mostly for my ramblings and ideas for products, services, political movements, or whatever I think would really be cool. Others are free to post as well, or just comment on existing posts. All posts should complete the phrase “Wouldn’t it be cool if”. Talk to a lawyer about patent protection before posting anything you really care about.

If there was a mobile car wash

July 9th, 2008

Take an old fire truck, fill it with water, bring some soap, and you’ve got a mobile car wash! Then instead of having to waste your executive time washing your own car, or even driving to a stationary car wash, you could just make an appointment on the web, or heaven-forbid, over the phone, and they’d just show up and wash your car while you’re at work. Make a deal with the many large companies in Silicon Valley with huge parking lots full of cars, and you could do a bulk washing at a discount.

I don’t know hard it is to find an old fire truck these days, but there’s got to some out there. I’ve heard that this kind of service is actually available in some countries, but I’ve never seen it in the US. Of course a Google search does show a few candidates.
